Who Am I?

Hello, I’m Marnay, a cybersecurity analyst, incident responder, and digital forensics enthusiast. I created this blog as a space to document my journey, track my growth, and refine my skills in cybersecurity. As I navigate the ever-evolving world of cybersecurity, I hope that sharing my experiences, challenges, and lessons learned can also help and inspire others along the way.

I started my journey in cybersecurity with a deep passion for protecting organizations, investigating threats, and uncovering digital evidence. Over the past two years, I’ve gained hands-on experience in incident response, threat detection, log analysis, phishing investigations, and security awareness training. My background also includes regulatory compliance, security operations, and project leadership. I enjoy continuously learning new tools, refining my investigative techniques, and staying ahead of cyber threats.

Currently, I work as a Cybersecurity Analyst on a Security Incident Response Team, where I help secure Protected Health Information (PHI) and Personally Identifiable Information (PII). Prior to this role, I was a SOC Analyst for an MSSP, monitoring over 100 company environments, learning the fundamentals, stopping Business Email Compromise (BEC) attacks, and assisting in ransomware investigations. I’m passionate about digital forensics, proactive threat hunting, and sharing my knowledge with the cybersecurity community.
